This is a follow-up to the thread "how to add/get rid of "SPAM" in subject line?" (http://forums.timewarnercable.com/t5/Email/how-to-add-get-rid-of-quot-SPAM-quot-in-subject-line/m-p/6785#M431) strated by "nbw4333" on 09-15-2013 01:43 PM. The thread was closed with a solution posted by "Surreall" (Spectrum Employee) on 09-20-2013 06:27 AM.
I have followed the advice of "Surreall" but continue to see the same problem. Please see the attached pictures of my Junk Mail Settings in Spectrum Web Mail, and an example of the resultant Message Subject Line with "[spam]" prepended, as displayed in Mozilla Thunderbird ver. 52.6.0 in the Inbox Messages List. Pleas advise what I can/should do differently to eliminate the sporadic addition of "[spam]" to the Message Subject Line of messages for which I can see no obvious reason that they should be considered spam, especially since I believed I had turned off the spam filter in the first place.

Solution to problem: The server responded: 550 5.1.0 sender rejected AUP#O-1030 Outgoing mail server (SMTP) when using an alias email address. Been using an alias for years until Spectrum took over from Time Warner.

Outlook 2016 Sending Error
I am using Outlook 2016 and always get an error anytime sending/receiving as follows:
!Task (e-mail address) Sending reported error (080042108): The operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server.
My settings are as follows"
Account type: IMAP
Incoming Mail Server: mail.twc.com
Incoming Server: IMAP port.993
SMTP: mail.twc.com
Out server: SMTP port 587*
Anyone have an idea how to fix this error or whose problem it really is, Spectrum or Microsoft?

Unable to change password on email sub account
Whenever I try to change the password on one of my email sub accounts via Subscriber Self Care I get the following error: You have entered an invalid division. I am following the guidelines listed for length and content.
I have also tried resetting the password via the Email Password Reset Tool which gives the following error: Password information cannot be properly updated at this time. For additional support, visit for support and contact information.

New laptop running Win 10. Built-in Email works but I'd rather use Thunderbird and can't
With Thunderbird, it wants my PW everytime I try and then I'll get this:
Sending of password for user *********@wi.rr.com did not succeed. Mail server mail.twc.com responded: [IN-USE] account is locked by another session or for maintenance, try again.
I assume that it's because the Windows 10 email is seemingly built-in and running in the background. Search via google isn't getting me anywhere.
Anyone here run into this and solve it? I don't want to change my email settings because they work fine on every device I have, all except the new laptop.

No Support from Spectrum (for email)
During trip to Europe last year I had very poor experience with mail2web. Afterwards I read many topics in these forums about email access outside USA. Then I wrote a topic headed, "mail2web.com - please share good and bad experiences " After only two days, and no responses that were enlightening, a community manager closed the topic and asked me to call Spectrum. In the past month I called Spectrum twice and used online chat once. In all three cases the customer service person I spoke with did NOT KNOW that mail.twc.com is blocked outside the USA. Since they did not know the starting point of the difficulty, they could not help. Where can I go to get proper help??? Thanks for any replies.

Is anyone else having problems connecting to mail.twc.com port 993 IMAP4 server, with their old roadrunner.com account tonight? It started earlier tonight for me with this message:
"An error occurred.
Unexpected: Non-last response line (i.e. a data line) did not start with a *, offending line: C1 OK LOGIN completed"

Ridiculous security for email
I can not find a place to send this thought anywhere on the site , so I will post here.
To whom it may concern,
A few weeks ago I received a number of Mailer Daemon messages referring to email addresses I did not recognize. I went to the Spectrum email login site, marked the messages for deletion and reporting as spam. Since I never heard from you regarding these messages, I went to the Spectrum Self Care site and discovered that someone had added four (4) users to my account that I did not authorize. I marked them to be deleted. Weeks later, they still have not been deleted.
Somewhere along the time frame, someone in your office decided to stop my chosen password from allowing me access to my account. The idea that you took the opportunity to change my email password without alerting me is beyond ridiculous.
I would like to have some explanation of why I had to go through this exercise in idiocy and why no one can explain how the users were added to my account.
Further, I think your idea of password security is less than stellar. Your restrictions are quite insecure, in fact. I am limited to eight (8) characters and can use only numbers and letters. On most secure sites I visit (which is often), the requirements are “no less than eight (8) characters (often they suggest more are better). In addition to numbers and letters they allow #*&$! To be used. Even signing in to the main Spectrum site uses these requirements. So, why not the email accounts?
Don’t you think Spectrum email should join the more secure groups of the internet?

Changing the Administrator email?
Does anyone know how to change the administering email account? After getting hacked yet again and having email forwarded yet again - and having to work with Customer Service yet again to get access to my email account - they "fixed" my current issue but now my sons email account is the administrating email and mine is a sub account - I'd like to reassign administration back to me. Anyone know if this can be done?

Each time I have to explain to the person who is NOT in the USA, what the issue is, and after I tell them nothing is wrong on my end, they tell me it's an issue on their server and are working on it. Inadequate Webmail Services
It is disapointing that our prices continue to rise but the Webmail serivce is the same as when I suscribed over 15 years ago, or may be worse. Emails arent deleted when dowloaded to Outlook, therefore, I have to delete them twice....and to delete from Webmail takes hours...the sort funtion no longer works....and each time I call the customer service agents are terrible...
I was consistently told to restart my modem and network...I have tried to manage mail from my brother - in- laws house in another state....on my phone while traveling....and at home....all with the same out come so I know its not a network issue...surely the employees at the company work in their own product. Oh and I've been told twice to set up a gmail account and forward email to that account....how does that help with deleting emails from the TWC server....
Been a loyal internet customer for 17 years....all I get is higher bill....wondering why I wouldnt just look for another provider based on the recommendations from customer serivce....

Office365 Encrypted emails
My company uses office 365 and has the ability to send encrypted emails. Any emails sent to @rochester.rr.com email addresses are never received. Is there a global block in place to block these emails? How can we get them unblocked.
The encryption method used is Asure RMS using IRM.

Sender sometimes unable to deliver email to our rr.com address
For the third time this year we've had companies notify us that email sent to us was undeliverable. This never used to happen & I can't imagine that we've made any changes that would have caused this.
Any suggestions/ideas? In January we were converted by one company from electronic statement delievery to US Mail delivery because of this. And it almost happened again this week.

My roadrunner webmail stopped working on both iPhone and ASUS laptop. My gmail account works perfectly on both iPhone and laptop. I am on public WiFi and will be for a month until return home. Please help

Need email client because Time Warner email accessed via Webmail IS UNUSABLE.
I lost my SSD hard drive last week (which was my entire computer) including all of the email in my Windows Live Mail client (although backed-up at Carbonite) -- so I am coming up on a new computer. I have a TWC email account (austin.rr.com) - and I would lke to dispense with using the Windows Live Mail client since WLM is no longer supported or available from Microsoft.
I would just use Webmail as my interface, but accessing my email via a browser IS UNUSABLE - sometimes a minute or more just to view an email or to get back to my Inbox. I am using Windows 10, but not seeing good things about the new Mail app included with Windows 10.
So am looking for recomemdations on an email client that works well with my TWC email. Was using POP3 protocol and have never used the IMAP protocol. What kind of experience has anyone had with different email clients and/or email protocols.
Or shoud I just forgot the who TWC email access and consider switching to another vendor because it is getting so expensive to maintain my TWC relationship.
